The new version of the multimedia player leverages native HTML5 video and relies on Flash as a fallback mechanism when the HTML5 video tag is not implemented.

 

Local Map

 

The MPEG 4 format (H264 codec) is the minimum requirement for the player because the Flash fallback relies on it and H264 is the standard video format on many mobile devices.

This example use native HTML5 video on most modern browser such as Firefox 6+, Google Chrome 3+ and IE9. The Flash fallback is use for IE 7 and 8 as well as older versions of Firefox.
